Avoid cross contamination

For some people, especially those diagnosed with coeliac disease, gluten poses a serious risk to their health. A small amount of cross contamination with gluten-containing foods can result in immediate or long-term pain, discomfort and health issues.

Avoid cross contamination by:

washing hands

wiping down any surface before preparing a meal

using clean knives or any other kitchen utensil, tools or machinery.

Thaw back plan

Avoid using a microwave as it makes the bread chewy.

Defrost, thaw or partial thaw.

Portion if needed and place in fridge for use or back in the freezer to use at later date.

Rejuvenate by grilling or toasting. If oven is needed, 140 degrees for 6 to 10 minutes (depending on size).

Prepare meal.
